Community First: Guysborough County Housing Association is a pioneering grassroots organization dedicated to tackling the unique affordable housing challenges across the Municipality of the District of Guysborough, District of St. Mary’s, and Town of Mulgrave.

Born from the Guysborough County Housing Network’s extensive research and community engagement, our innovative hybrid model unites two powerful forces: the Board of Directors and the Community Network.

Provides door-to-door pre-booked transportation to anyone that needs a ride to an appointment, grocery shopping, employment, or anywhere else you might want to go.  The service is booked on first-come, first-served basis, but priority is given to those who need transportation for medical appointments.

A free, voluntary home-visiting program offered by Public Health’s Early Years program. The program pairs a specially trained nurse with a person who is pregnant with their first child and could benefit from additional support. The partnership starts early in the pregnancy and continues until the child’s second birthday. The nurse provides long-term support, guidance, and information to help the family succeed.
