AGM Highlights

Thanks to those who attended our 2nd AGM last night in Boylston. We were happy to host our tenants to a potluck supper and appreciated their questions and comments. It was great to have a few new folks - Terry Simpson and Garth Wilson - who dropped by to see what we are all about. Reports were presented and accepted including a Financial Statement and review engagement report provided by HBA Chartered Professional Accountants. We have renewed their appointment for the coming year. We confirmed our board of directors for the coming year and are saying goodbye with much appreciation to Mark Haynes and Allison Grady who are leaving us. We presented Volunteer Appreciation Certificates to Juanita Byard and Keith Towse and expressed thanks to Floyd Grady and Marc Jobin for all they do for our Boylston property. Our confirmed board organizational partners will be Speireag Hendra from A Roof Over Your Head, Sheri Taylor serving both as a citizen of Mulgrave and Leeside Society, Laura Sceles from Kids First, Harold Roberts with the Canso and Area Development Association with more to be confirmed. Ex-officio board members are: MoDG Councillors Susan Cashin and Mary Desmond, Mulgrave Mayor Ron Chisholm and St. Mary's Warden James Fuller. We hope to confirm the names of the Service Provider Network Convenors in the coming weeks. Thanks to Jacob Abbott and Natalie Sangster who are both moving on. The board met briefly following the AGM and confirmed that the Executive will remain as Juanita Byard, Secretary, Ketih Towse, Treasurer; Nathan Sparks as vice chairperson and myself as chair. We made some changes to our committee structure. Moving forward, Property Management will become part of the Finance Committee responsibilities, with Keith Towse as lead, The Project Opportunities Committee will focus on new projects exclusively, with Nancy convening these meetings. Sherry Mollins will lead a new Communications Committee and Nathan Sparks will continue as lead for Tenant Relations and Governance/Policy.
